I am on to some new travels away from the island but my heart will remain for sure. I will be back and I will always love Galveston Island. The place I made my first sand castle, first learned to swim, my first sting by a jellyfish, and the place I came back to as an adult. I have lived here for six years now and have planted my feet firmly in the sand since I was a tiny little sea urchin. I plan that I will spend many of my older days here and perhaps even settle to rest eventually.
Until then, I will share my island life and it’s many amazing moments.
Without shadow there is no depth.
The darkness creates the light.
Life is not always sunshine and bright, nor should it be. But the beauty can be found in the darkness, in an alley, on a stormy day, in our dark waters beauty lies, within the shade of a tree, in an abandoned building. Within the dark souls the music weeps. From the darkness the super hero born. From the night the sun will rise. Only in dark do the stars shine.
Never a child afraid of the darkened night. The dark corner of the mind the stories find. Into the night the bats take flight and overhead the owls will fly. The beauty of a creepy lonely site. White moth death from the light burned bright. Dark thoughts can bring forth light. The darkest forms might be the happiest sight. The dark not feared or no spotlight. A darkened sky creates the silver line. Fear not the darkness of the overgrown vine. The glory of life found through the darkest times.
Finding beauty in the darkness. Finding the light past the shadow.
